Abstract

This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of elementary school students' perceptions of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as a role model. Employing a qualitative approach through open-ended questionnaires and interviews, the research explores students' knowledge, understanding, application, and challenges in emulating the Prophet. The findings reveal that students possess strong and holistic perceptions encompassing three dimensions: theological understanding of prophethood, conceptual grasp of the Prophet's essential attributes, and practical embodiment of noble character traits. These perceptions manifest in concrete daily behaviors such as assisting parents and maintaining honesty, accompanied by feelings of joy and pride. The development of these positive perceptions is supported by a robust educational ecosystem involving school teachers, parents as primary role models at home, and Quranic instructors alongside peers in the community. The study concludes that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ remains a living and relevant exemplary figure for students, with the effectiveness of instilling his values heavily dependent on sustained guidance from this comprehensive educational support system.
